My adventures in Sock Knitting

Hi, all!  I finally ordered my complete set of bamboo double pointed needles and they arrived day before yesterday.  I've been obsessing over making a sock for the last two days.  I've yet to produce a finished product.  I've tried like three or four different times yesterday with no success but I'm not out done yet.  I shall try and try until I beat the sock making pattern into submission!  Dun-Dun-Dunnn!
Anyways, I'm also trying to finish the hugs of comfort shawl. I've got pictures from Christmas to post as soon as I find my camera.  It's around here somewhere.  My washcloth presents were a real success and the two scarves I made were a real hit as well.  I was so excited.  I believe I'll try and make the scarves smaller so that they will fit little people too.
Oh, Big News!! My DD, Mary (who's nine months old), has gotten her first teeth.  You can't see them with a camera yet but they are definitely there.  I should know, I breastfeed.   LOL!  Tomorrow we will be going to my Nana's to celebrate the New Year.  Which is going to be fun.  Well, sorry I've not been keeping you guys updated like I should.  B/t Christmas and kids it's been crazy.  Hope to get you all some pictures up soon.  Hope you all have a Happy New Year and a great weekend.

Singing Christmas Tree

Last nights program at church turned out really well.  All the kids did a wonderful job.  My family came to see Lexi.

I know this comment isn't very Christmassy but Mary in this picture reminds me of one of those yellow peeps that you get at Easter.
Here is Lexi before the Singing Christmas Tree with our Christmas Tree.  Can you tell she loves Christmas?
Here is a video of Lexi singing at the program.

Pecans in the Cemetery

I just thought I would post this interesting little story that my Pastor sent in our monthly Communicator.  It's a little paper that's sent out each month letting the congregation know what will be taking place that month. Anyways, I just thought this little story was funny.

Pecans in the Cemetery

On the outskirts of a small town,
There was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence.
One day, two boys filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts.

"One for you, one for me, one for you, one for me," said one boy.  Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence.

Another boy came riding along the road on his bicycle.  As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery.  He slowed down to investigate.  Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me, one for you, one for me...."

He just knew what it was.  He jumped back on his bike and rode off.  Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along.

"Come quick," said the boy, "you won't believe what I heard!  Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls!"

The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk."  When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled slowly to the cemetery.

Standing by the fence they heard, "One for you, one for me.  One for you, one for me."

The old man whispered, "Boy, you've been tellin' me the truth.  Let's see if we can see the Lord...

Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything.
The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of the Lord.

At last they heard, "One for you, one for me. That's all.  Now let's go get those nuts by the fence and we'll be done..."

They say the old man had the lead for a good half-mile before the kid on the bike passed him.

I thought you all could use a good laugh.  I know with the stress of Christmas being only 8 days away I did.  So here is a laugh on me.  I hope you enjoy it.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

So Little Time So Much To Do

Sorry I've not written in a while.  We've been busy trying to get the house presentable for Christmas.  I'm not sure that's going as well as I hoped but it's still going so that's good.  I found my reading glasses today.  They are not the best in the world due to the scratch right in the center of the right lens but what can I do. It's still better than nothing at all.  Anyways, I've been experimenting with cabled knitting.  I made a practice run and for me it was tough getting started because I was all thumbs but once I found my "grove" it wasn't so bad.  I turned my practice swatch into a collar cover for Peppermint.  Here she is modeling it.
I don't think she's too happy about having her picture took at that moment.  I may make some more for a few other furry babies that I know.  Depending on yarn and time.  Well, here's to the season.  Hope you'll have a happy Thursday, it's only 9 days till Christmas.  I'm so not ready.  Huh!

Happy Early Birthday to Me!!

Thank you to all who made my early birthday party wonderful.  Thank you all for the presents I received.  I had a really wonderful day.  It even snowed.
These are the earrings that my DH got me to match my necklace he got me two years ago for my birthday.
These are the flannel p.j.'s he bought me too.
This is my Kindle and my DLB(dear little brother) bought me the books that I wanted to go on it.
I can't wait to see how they turn out.
This is the hat and scarf that my DA (dear aunt), bought me.  I love them they are so warm.

These are the other outfits I received. They were great.  I'm so blessed to have a wonderful family.

New Stuff!

Just thought I would let everyone know I changed my background.  Please let me know what you think.  My Aunt Lynda has given me some more ideas for new projects.

These are way too cute.
I finally finished my keyhole scarf.  I hope whoever gets it likes it.  I've started on another one.  The new one is going to be in barn red.  I don't know if I'll keep that one of give it away too.
Here is the one I've finished.
I'm so excited.  This Sunday my Nana is having a special dinner for my birthday.  Wish me luck on getting pictures of that to post.

Magnet Art, Birthday Party for Jesus, and Christmas Presents (Continued..)

I couldn't fit the last part of my post on so I had to create another one.  I finally got my wash clothes finish and I'm working on a keyhole scarf.  Hopefully I'll get it finished in time. This is the scarf.
Theses are the wash clothes I've made.  I hope the people will like them.
I'll try and post pictures of my tree when I get it up. Hope everyone has a Happy Monday.

Magnet Art, Birthday Party for Jesus, and Christmas Presents

This past weekend was cold but good.  It snowed on Saturday but sadly I didn't get any pictures to prove it.  It didn't stick but it counted as the first snow so if it snows again I hope it snows a lot or at least enough for snow cream.  Yummy!
The fist set of pictures are of Lexi's alphabet magnet art.  She so creative.
This is an angel.
 This is a dog.
The next set of pictures of from last night at Jesus' Birthday party.  Every year our church holds a birthday party for Jesus and invites the kids and their parents.  We sing Christmas songs, share the story of Jesus' birth, eat snacks, make Christmas ornaments, and wait for our special guest.  SANTA CLAUS!

Here are the girls and Santa Claus.
